"When I discovered Your words, I ate them up:
they were my great joy and my heart’s delight."
Jeremiah 15:16a
The Bible is all about Jesus and His loving sacrifice on the cross. The King's Table uses a fun connection with food, the restaurant experience and Bible study to help people seek and see Jesus in the Word. Our prayer is that you would personally experience a greater intimacy with Jesus resulting in a transformed and abundant life!
Eat the Word, Huh???
According to the entire Bible, God’s words are good for us to eat, and we need to eat them. So does it mean to "eat the word"? do I literally open my mouth and chew on the literal leather and onion skin pages of the Bible? Of course not! The most important aspect for our physical survival is food. When we haven’t eaten in a while, we become very clear that everything else is secondary. Without eating, we simply cannot continue to exist. In the same way, the most important aspect for believers to be healthy and grow in the divine life is to eat spiritual food.

01.
SPIRITUAL MALNOURISHMENT
As a believer in Jesus Christ you have been born again and became a new creation in Christ Jesus. This new life living on the inside of you needs to be fed just like a child would. . God’s word is the divine supply as food to nourish our Spirits. You would not only eat on Sunday morning and then, not eat again for a week (unless maybe you were intentionally fasting). You would grow weak, and “hangry”. Your body could become sick, you would definitely struggle to do this and your physical body would be suffering. When we are hungry, we eat, and when we are thirsty we drink. Our bodies and all of its systems needs the nourishment that food and drink provide. The same is true for our spirits. Without feeding your soul and spirit with the Bread of Life, it, too, will be weak and sick.
02.
LACK OF INTENTIONAL ACTIONS
You have a personal invitation from the Kings of Kings, and Lord of lords, to come and eat with Him at His Table every single day. But many Christians struggle to commit to either the time or struggle with the study of the Bible. Busy schedules, distractions, or a lack of direction can affect our actions. Just like any relationship, it takes time, commitment, and effort to sustain and strengthen that relationship. Through Bible study, prayer, praise and worship, community, and service, our spirit is nourished and strengthened. When you were born again, you were given the greatest blood transfusion there is and that is with the perfect, sinless, royal blood of Jesus Christ. And life is in the blood. His life is in you! Through these disciplines we get to know the love, joy and hope of Jesus Christ intimately and passionately.
03.
AN UNWILLING HEART
Many things can cause an unwilling heart. The pursuit of everything else in this world can leave us too busy, too distracted, too apathetic, too "good" to feel a need to pursue God and the things of God. Sometimes we may have been hurt by the church or other Christians. Sometimes we may be aprehensive about our ability to learn or understand the Bible. Sometimes sins like addiction, pride, envy, or impurity, interrupt and hinder our fellowship with God and lead to guilt and defeat. Unresolved pain and bitterness, doubting God's love, forgiveness or plans, can hinder us drawing near to Him through His Word. Worry or an unrepentant heart can also lead us away from receiving the fullness of what He wants to give us.
So why do we feed our spirits so little?
